The Town of Dillon, with 1.5 square miles of land and 0.8 miles of water, may be best known in the area for its Marina, Amphitheatre, Farmers’ Market, and central location to Summit County resorts.

Though incorporated in 1883, the town has occupied a few locations before landing where it is today beginning in 1956 after Denver Water notified the town it was building the Dillon Reservoir (a.k.a. Lake Dillon). In fact, the previous location sits below the lake today.
